One small file does everything: put the launcher in an empty folder and run it. It downloads the modern Lineage II Classic client into that folder (the gameplay is 100% Interlude), keeps it up to date, repairs damaged files and starts the game for you.

Full client package

Client 1.0.0 · 8.9 GB (7Z). Extract it (7-Zip) into an empty folder, put L2Aetherion.exe in that same folder (next to system_en) and run it: it verifies every file and downloads only what is missing or newer.

Windows SmartScreen: the launcher is new and not yet signed with a publisher certificate, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info → Run anyway. You can confirm the download is exactly ours by comparing its SHA-256 (PowerShell: Get-FileHash <file>) with the value above.

How to play

  1. Step 1

    Create your account

    Register on this website and confirm the email we send you. Your game account is created after confirmation.

  2. Step 2

    Put the launcher in a folder

    Create an empty folder with about 30 GB free (for example D:\L2 Aetherion) and save L2Aetherion.exe in it. There is no installer and no administrator rights are needed.

  3. Step 3

    Run it and press DOWNLOAD

    The launcher downloads the whole game into that same folder and verifies every file. It never asks where to install.

  4. Step 4

    Press PLAY

    Sign in with your game account name and game password. Updates install automatically on every start.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) for the launcher
  • About 30 GB of free disk space (the client is about 24 GB unpacked)
  • A DirectX 9 capable graphics card
  • A broadband connection for the first install
